5 Small habits that make you respect yourself!

Our behavior reflects how we think about ourselves. It is a two-way loop. Your small action can make a larger difference within yourself. Right from earlier ages to current days, people have changed drastically. It is important to work on your personality to grow and respect yourself as a person. Here I am going to share 5 small habits that make you respect yourself & help you become a better version of yourself:

1. Do smaller things to make others feel better

Saying "Hello" to your guard will not change anything for you or him. It is simply a gesture of respect that does not depend on the type of role a person is playing, but as a human, you will make others feel a little better about themselves.

Write a thank you note to someone who helped you in one or the other ways and show little kindness towards people. Take a moment to recognize small efforts made by others who are working on new projects. Assume you like or watch someone's YouTube channel and they want to make money from it. Your opinion matters: it may seem insignificant to you but wondering why you should like, or a comment is a selfish act. It will not benefit you or the other person. Be gentle and kind!

Smaller details can have a bigger impact on your life. Consider receiving recognition for your minor contributions. You will undoubtedly be motivated to do more and even better than before. This will aid your personal development.

2. Be a Lifelong Learner

Who is a lifelong learner according to you?

A person who reads a lot of books. Certainly Yes! However, there are numerous other ways to learn and grow. Having information about everything will help you evolve in every conversation. Reading books, taking new online courses, learning new sports, or learning about someone's life and accomplishments can help you generate a plethora of ideas. Learning is an ongoing process! Anyone can teach you something. Even a small child can teach you new skills. Be open to learning. Learning will benefit you at any stage of your life.

You will have every reason to respect yourself for your ability to improve upon the person you were yesterday if you continue to grow, work on your personal development, and avoid becoming stagnant in your life.

3. Enhance your appearance

It is a saying that non-verbal communication share is 70% which means your appearance matters. Your appearance includes how you dress up, how you maintain eye contact, and how much you involve in conversation. If you dress up well, you will feel confident and in turn, it will help in boosting your performance.

Take note of how you feel after a haircut. Remove the stains from your clothes. Clean your filthy shoes. Trim your beard. Stand in a proper posture.

All of this contributes to a greater sense of pride and self-esteem. This will be felt by others. Cheers! To see the new, you within you.

4. Stop Lying

Are you lying about small things to avoid various circumstances? If yes, then it’s high time to change this now. This impacts your integrity and your sanity.

One published article shows that on average a person lies 1.65 times a day. This is surprisingly very low.

Do you remember how many times you lied today in the office? Remember when you didn't finish your work and made up an excuse to get out of it? Being truthful will assist you in becoming a better version of yourself. You don't need to look for ideas to get away from people; instead, be a person who can communicate correctly about anything without hesitation. Don't worry about whether the outcome will be good and able to make everyone happy; trust me, you will have a different level of satisfaction within yourself.

You will lead a simple life without any complications if you are truthful and there will be fewer chances in the future to get into awkward situations because one lie leads to many lies and one truth will stop further conversation about any complications.

5. Follow a Strength-Based Approach

Rather than defining yourself by your flaws, focus on your strengths and the positive qualities you have to offer the world. A bigger part of self-respect is all about treating yourself the way you would like others to treat you. So, by focusing on your perceived weakness, you're allowing the rest of the world to do the same. If you want others to notice your strengths, try not only to notice them but also to highlight them in your daily life. Recognize your accomplishments and successes, face challenges with confidence, and remember the power of positive thinking.

The best way to improve your Strength-Based Approach is to do self-analysis. Self-Analysis can be done by simply doing a SWOT Analysis of yours. But the question that arises here is how to do a personal SWOT Analysis. There are various websites available from where you can jot down questions and try to identify the Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and threats. I assume now you must be wondering how to do that or what needs to be mentioned so I can help you out. Here you can get to know how you can access yourself.

Final Thoughts: I am sure everyone wants to be treated well & respected. I must say these small things will help you to improve yourself as a person. You deserve to be treated well, both by yourself and by others. This is the reason why self-esteem is essential for living a happy and healthy life, especially if you want to be a high-value person.
